As the Global Head of Product Design at Arcadia, I lead the design strategy for our Community Solar and Platform experiences, managing a team of designers in collaboration with cross-functional partners to advance clean energy and climate tech. My role is a blend of direct design work and team leadership, focusing on experience strategy and user research.

I've established an inclusive leadership style and advocate for user-centered design, aiming to integrate design as a crucial element in our product development process. My goal is to ensure our designs are impactful, meeting user needs while contributing to Arcadia's mission in the clean energy sector.

Pivoting into an IC role on the Mobile team at Coursera allowed me to apply my strategic perspective to design, leading workshops and projects to establish the vision for the Native Apps, while providing mentoring for junior team members. Projects included leading an empathy exercise to define Coursera’s First Mobile Learner User Journey, developing the 2025 vision for the native apps in collaboration with my engineering lead, developing storyboards, detailed designs and prototypes for key features, and playing a lead role in the creation of Coursera’s Mobile First Guidelines and Best Practices.

As a leader at Wayfair, I supported the hiring, growth and retention of top design talent by mentoring junior designers, leading initiatives to elevate our team’s craft, and rethinking our rituals to ensure they were inclusive to all team members. As a product designer, I lead the vision and strategy for several projects for the Product Details Page experience across the web and app platforms.

I was primarily responsible for designing, conducting, analyzing, and reporting on user-centered design research and usability testing, while I was at KU. My main responsibilities included identification of user needs and goals, usability testing, and more formal, in-depth testing, working with minimal supervision. In addition, I designed and assisted in the development of the product, an Interactive Learning Map.

I redesigned the creation process in order to meet client, director and team member needs at this Cartagena based newspaper. I was responsible for building a culture of teamwork. My team developed a system to reduce the technical errors in the production of the newspaper ads. I supervised all the projects undertaken and ensured all team members stayed on task as well as directed team meetings, brainstorming sessions, checks on progress, and plan direction.

The unique aspect of this role was that I got to teach design thinking in a region where it didn’t really exist as a concept. I created project management tools for the company, supervised all the projects undertaken and ensured all team members stayed on task, designed raster and vector marketing based artwork using Adobe tools, and ensured client satisfaction during ideation, development, and presentation of finished projects.

As the Design Lab Director, I led a team of 5 graphic design students and 3 professors in the creation of the University’s brand, corporate identity materials, and a new signage design system. Additionally, I supported the professional development of my co-workers and students by running design thinking workshops where they were exposed for the first time to the approach.

In my role as Associate Professor, I organized the first Design Thinking course for the University, developed material, assignments, presentations and lectures for the course and also for Design Management, Design Research, and Design Theory and Fundamentals courses. As a full time professor, I had the opportunity to advise adjunct professors and students.

As a lecturer at my alma mater, I had the opportunity to develop materials, assignments and presentations for Editorial Design and Digital Illustration courses. Pivoting into a full time professor role, allowed me to expand my project management and leadership skills which I used to support our adjunct professors and lecturers in the development of seminars and lectures, and in the creation of university events with the local community. In addition to this, I conducted research on History of Illustrations in Advertising in Cartagena, and taught several classes in Infographics, Signage Design, Design Thinking Methods and User Experience Design.
